LATEST SKETCHBOOK | UPDATES

Piano

6/7/10

A watercolor painting done for my friend Levi's graduation present. I wanted to do something that I felt represented what music might look like when playing the piano.

Pear

3/24/10

A sketch of a pear done in graphite pencil from one of my many sketchbooks. It took me about 5 hours to do. I hadn't sketched anything in a while.

Fish

3/24/10

This is a three panel oil panting I did for my sister as a birthday present. I did it in 17 hours straight (not recommended) and ended up eroding a brush into a stick.

Squid

3/24/10

A sketch in graphite pencil of a foot-like squid attacking thumb-like fish. I don't know where I got the idea for this but it seemed to make sense at the time.

Hands

3/24/10

A sketch in graphite pencil of a medley of hands and a foot. I'm planning on doing a lot of different versions, media wise, with this outline being the basic structure.

Bees

3/24/10

A graphic I made in Photoshop of my hands as a beehive. I tweeked the images a little to get the shape. The leaves and bees I created in Illustrator.

LightHouse

3/24/10

This is an oil painting I did as a commission piece for a friend of the family. I started over on it three times because I couldn't get the right look I was going for.

Ben

3/24/10

This is a multimedia piece I did a few years ago in the boredom of my dorm room. I took a picture of a friend, drew the outline, and cut up some magazine clippings.

Tree1

3/24/10

This is another charcoal sketch of one of the trees from the same assignment. Charcoal is a great medium to work with if you want to get deep contrasts, it's just messy.

Tree2

3/24/10

This is a charcoal sketch of a tree from an old college assignment. We were supposed to choose something to do multiple studies of so I decided to do trees.
